French cheese with exceptional heritage
Back in 1816 in the Abbaye du Port Salut, the ingenious and devout monks created a cheese of such deliciousness that when it was brought to the markets in Paris a flag was raised to proclaim ‘’The cheeses have arrived’’.
Today, we make Port Salut with the same care and attention that inspired such excitement two hundred years ago; our master cheesemakers still create the same mellow, rich and delicate taste of one of France’s finest cheese.
Appealing cheese board choice
With its mouth-watering mild taste, it’s no surprise that Port Salut is a popular cheese board choice and a firm family favourite, loved by young and old for over 200 years. The combination of delicate taste, the distinctive orange rind and cheese wedge shape make it the perfect cheese board choice.
